RECYCLED PET
Polyethylene terephthalate (a.k.a PET) is a common type of polyester used for clothing and packaging. Because of its versatility and durability, most plush toys are made of PET. As a durable material, polyester is not biodegradable and it takes a long time for it to be decomposed. Studies show that disposed polyester can take any time between 20-200 years to decompose.
The main environmental issues with polyester comes from single-use packaging and products, such as food wraps and containers. Because they are produced and disposed at a high quantity and fast rate, the decomposition does not happen fast enough and our seas and landfills are overflooded with disposed polyester. The best way to tackle these issues are to reduce the amount of PET ending up in landfills by recycling them to keep the materials in circulation for as long as it is still useful.

WHY TEDDY BEARS
As a sustainable baby gifting company, we select our products based on the practicality of the gifts.
Many people think that baby clothes are the most practical gifts, but as our CEO and a mother of three will tell you, that is often not the case. Whilst some high quality, kind to skin baby clothing is important - a soft and snuggly teddy bear creates an emotional bond with the baby that becomes important for them as they grow up.
A good teddy bear becomes a lifetime companion to the baby, and follows their footsteps in a non-judgmental and supportive way.
This sentimental value has proven to be important for children’s wellbeing, some studies show that between 60-70% of children find the comfort of soft toys soothing and helps them emotionally.
WHY RECYCLED PET
Polyester should not be seen as a bad material, because it has very practical purposes. For plush toys made for babies, durability is important. Whilst we can find luxurious toys made with different fibres, few can create the luxurious soft touch, like a classic polyester teddy bear. We hope our teddy bears become a loyal companion to its little master for many years to come, creating unforgettable moments together.
To solve our dilemma that PET will take a long time to decompose, we have chosen to save PET water bottles from the landfill to create a win-win situation. Each teddy bear is made of 14 recycled PET bottles, whilst meeting the highest safety requirements by our toy manufacturer.
We hope to reduce our single-use plastic issue, one teddy bear at a time.
