How To Care For Your Organic Cotton Baby Blanket

Did you know that organic cotton needs to be cared for differently to regular cotton?
For example, you should only ever wash organic cotton with non-bio detergents, which are free from enzymes. Enzymes in bio detergents can damage organic cotton fibres and irritate sensitive skin.
Here’s our ultimate guide to taking care of your organic cotton pieces.
Cleaning
- Spot clean stains with non-bio detergent and cold water
- Wash separately by hand or on a gentle machine cycle
- Use a mild, eco-friendly, non-bio liquid detergent
- Wash in cold or lukewarm water only (max 30 degrees)
- Do not use bleach, fabric softener, or bio detergents

Drying
- Air dry flat (or draped) over a washing line or clothes horse - avoid pegs
- Always air dry where possible, as heat causes cotton shrinkage
- If using a dryer, select low-heat or air-only and remove whilst still slightly damp

Storage
- Make sure the blanket is completely dry before storing
- Use a breathable cotton or linen bag for protection
- Keep in a cool, dry, and dark place
